P.S: I am trying to explore different types of poetry.. this type is called : Diamante

This type of poetry is diamond in shape namely has 1-2-3-4-3-2-1 type of structure, where the number denotes the number of words. Also, they have to follow following rules:

  • First line: Noun or subject
  • Second line: Two Adjectives describing the first noun/subject
  • Third line: Three -ing words describing the first noun/subject
  • Fourth line: 4 words; two about the first noun/subject, two about the antonym/synonym
  • Fifth line: Three -ing words about the antonym/synonym
  • Sixth line: Two adjectives describing the antonym/synonym
  • Seventh line: Antonym/synonym for the subject

Hope you guys would also try this one 🙂

  1. i tried a diamante too… though it didnt come out as well as yours…

  2. @neeraja above…!!
i think winnie has that sort of mind… quick and adaptive… spontaniety is her style…!! eh winnie??? 🙂

  3. I thought metrical verse was tough:P. This seems even more constraining but to infuse beauty into the form of these verses with the form in mind – and not in spite of it – is commendable. Personally though I find it a little difficult to fathom and follow.
But yes there’s a fluent chain leading from one concept/noun to the other

    • I know this is too technical I wanted to give it a try.. but there is nothing that I am trying to say here.. so not best of my efforts 🙂
